2 x 800 MW Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station APPDCL, Nelaturu, Andhra Pradesh
Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station comprises of 2 units of 800MW each located near Nelaturu village about 25 KMs from Nellore town. Krishnapatnam port is used for equipment and coal transport. The cooling water for the plant is proposed to be the sea water. Cooling water will be drawn from sea (Bay of Bengal) and reject water will be discharged back to the sea. The plant will utilize blended coal (70 % domestic washed + 30% imported)
Steam Generator is supercritical, once through type, which operates on variable evaporation point principle where water is preheated and evaporated, and steam is subsequently superheated in single pass. This type of boilers have the ability to realize supercritical steam conditions, higher efficiencies and a favorable part load. Once through boilers offer specific advantages in the use of a wide coal range in a plant.
The steam turbine is a multi-cylinder, tandem compound, single reheat, regenerative, condensing design with separate HP, IP or combined HP-IP and LP casing(s) directly coupled with the generator; and suitable for indoor installation.
APGENCO appointed DESEIN as Owners Engineer. The scope of services include review of EPC contractors drawings/documents, Quality Plans, O&M documents, Project Management Services and administering the EPC contract apart from monitoring and supervising the project in regard to cost, time and quality in accordance. The scope also includes supervision of the construction and commissioning activities of all the Units.
